In addition, all of the Curricular Competencies in Social Studies can be met by incorporating Aboriginal Education and the topic of Residential Schools.

Career Education

Mathematics
  • Engage in problem-solving experiences that are connected to place, story, cultural practices, and perspectives relevant to local First Peoples communities, the local community, and other cultures

  • Incorporate First Peoples worldviews and perspectives to make connections to mathematical concepts

Science
  • Suggest ways to plan and conduct an inquiry to find answers to their questions

  • Experience and interpret the local environment

  • Identify First Peoples perspectives and knowledge as sources of information
