SCIENCE FAIR
Come join us in our gym as we present our projects to our school and community.

STEP 4 - SHARE

A Celebration of Learning

It is important for students to see a conclusion to their project and have an opportunity to showcase their learning and accomplishment with this project.

Students can display their projects in a gymnasium along with their plant, observation booklet, and food. Be sure to invite parents, the other classes in the school, and other classes in the community.

See below to organize food connections and typing of information.

Typing Information

Week 7-8

Students can type up the information in their Observation Booklets. They will also have their booklets on display at the Science Fair, but typing them up gives a clean look to display their information on their board as well. Using a template that students can access eases some of the formatting and ensures students fill in each section (Question, Hypothesis, Materials, Procedure, Interesting Facts, Food Connection, Conclusion).

Food Connections

Week 9

Prior to this last week, teachers should discuss with each student a food connection to their project. In an effort to be time efficient with baking, see how many student projects can be combined. For example, a student who grew corn and another student who grew tomatoes may get together to make corn tortilla chips and salsa. At the science fair their projects would be stationed beside each other so that visitors could enjoy the food connections together. Scheduling parent helpers to come in through the week to assist with baking with groups of students helps, too.
